Pakistan Council for Science and Technology

Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) is an advisory council which is mandated to advise the federal Government of Pakistan on the development of Science and Technology. PCST plays main role in policy making, planning, implementation and in carrying out policy studies of science and technology. PCST also act as the secretariat of National Commission of Science and Technology (NCST), chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Act, 2016 provided basis for formation of PCST.[1]

  • Dealing officer (not below the rank of Joint Secretary of the Division controlling the subject matter of science and technology)[2]
  • Two parliamentarians, one each fiom Senate and National Assembly. preferably with scientific knowledge and background[2]
  • Chairperson, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology[2]
