Pifco

Pifco (sometimes rendered PIFCO) is a British brand name of electrical goods which has had several commercial incarnations.

Originally established in 1900 as Provincial Incandescent Fittings Co. of Failsworth, Manchester by Joseph Webber, the company sold lighting appliances and accessories. It was formed as a public company in 1902.[1]

During its long existence as a manufacturing company, Pifco produced and distributed a wide range of small domestic electrical appliances, from hairdryers and teasmades to christmas lights[2] to bicycle accessories and children's toys.[3] Pifco became a holding company in 1957, and acquired several companies, ultimately including Russell Hobbs, House of Carmen and Tower.

In 2001 Pifco was purchased by Salton Group, a company based in Lake Forest, Illinois. Pifco Ltd became Salton Europe Ltd in that year and was further renamed as Russell Hobbs Ltd in 2010.[4]

With the company's own products now marketed under other brands, the Pifco brand has been licensed for use by other companies since 2007.[5][6]
