Pomare, Lower Hutt
Pomare is an unofficial suburb of Lower Hutt City in New Zealand, comprising the northern part of the official suburb of Taitā, situated around Pomare Railway Station and Pomare School.

The suburb is named after Māui Pōmare (Ngāti Mutunga), Minister of Health from 1925 to 1928.
It was developed as a Housing New Zealand area in the 1970s, [1] and redeveloped in 2014 after years of social neglect.
