Poorvikalyani
Poorvikalyani ragam is a ragam in Carnatic Music which is a derived scale of 53rd Melakartha Gamanashrama.[1] It is referred to as one of the most meditative raga.[2]
Structure and Lakshana
- ārohaṇa: S R₁ G₃ M₂ P D₂ P Ṡ[lower-alpha 1]
- avarohaṇa: Ṡ N₃ D₂ P M₂ G₃ R₁ S[lower-alpha 2]
(the notes in this scale are shuddha rishabham, antara gandharam, prathi madhyamam, chatushruti dhaivatham, kakali nishadham)
It Has a vakra prayoga of P D2 P S in the arohanam
