Prang, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Prang is a town of Charsadda District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is at 34°8'20N 71°44'11E with an altitude of 276 metres (908 feet)[1] and is above the junction of the SwatKabul River|Kabul]] and Jindey River (Charsadda) (The Land of three rivers, 16 miles north-east of Peshawar. It is practically the southern portion of the town of Charsadda the words secound largest grave yard starts from the village prang .[2]

History

The population 1901 was 10,235, consisting chiefly of Muhammadzai Pathans and other pathan tribes like Shah’s and Durrani’s .[2] the word prang is a pashto word which is called for tiger in the pashto languge, sevrel year ago the town was used by tigers for living therfor the town name was called by tiger name (Prang).
