Quercus mexicana

Quercus mexicana is a Mexican species of trees in the beech family. It is widespread from Chiapas to Tamaulipas.[2][3]

Quercus mexicana is a deciduous tree up to 15 meters tall with gray bark. Leaves are thick and leathery, up to 120 mm long, oblong or lance-shaped with no teeth or lobes.[2][4][5]

Etymology

Quercus is the ancient Latin name for oak trees.[6]

Mexicana means 'from Mexico'.[6]
