Rendezvous with the Past (Egyptian Arabic: موعد مع الماضي translit: Maww’ed Ma’ Al-Madi aliases: A Date With the Past) is 1961 Egyptian romantic drama directed by Mahmoud Zulfikar. The film stars Salah Zulfikar and Mariam Fakhr Eddine.[1][2]

Plot

Hamdi (Salah Zulfikar), the son of a factory owner, falls in love with Fatima (Mariam Fakhr Eddine), the daughter of a factory worker. Hamdi begins to teach her to read and write and they get involved in an affair. He prepares to marry her, but he is surprised by his father's desire to marry him to Tahia (Soher Al Bably), the daughter of a rival factory owner. Hamdi refuses to fulfill this desire, and his father expels him. Fatima decides to escape in order not to stand in the way of Hamdi's happiness and future and events follow.
