Taylor spent the 2003 and 2004 seasons working as chief designer at Jaguar. After the team was acquired by Dietrich Mateschitz and transformed into Red Bull, he continued to hold the same role and led the design of the new team's first Formula 1 car for the 2005 season, the RB1, which managed to close out that constructors' championship year in seventh place, thanks to the fourth places achieved by David Coulthard in Australia and at the Nürburgring. He later moved to McLaren.
