Robert Hernreich
Mr. Hernreich received a BA and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. While there he was a varsity letterman and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, national senior men’s honorary society. He is the recipient of the university’s Robert S. Brookings award and the John M. Olin School of Business outstanding alumni award.
Mr. Hernreich has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Washington University in Saint Louis since 1992. He has witnessed the university ascend from an unremarkable ranking to as high as Top-10 of the best universities in the US, according to U.S. News and World Report.
Mr. Hernreich is president of Remonov Capital Inc. and founder and co-owner of Remonov and Company in Edwards, Colorado. Both are private investment firms. Previously, Mr. Hernreich was Chairman and CEO of Sigma Broadcasting, formerly Arkansas’ largest television and radio station group. He was chairman of United States Repeating Arms, maker of legendary Winchester Sporting Firearms. He was a partner in Diverse Talent, a notable Los Angeles talent agency, and a founding member of Aloha Partners, an eminently successful cellular frequency acquisition company.
Mr. Hernreich is a previous owner of the Sacramento Kings of the NBA, the Texas Rangers of the MLB, the national champion Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA, the national champion Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League, and the national champion Sacramento Knights of the World Indoor Soccer League. All of these teams won national or regional championships during his ownership tenure. Presently, he is an owner and board member of Swansea City AFC of the English Championship League and DC United of Major League Soccer.
In the Vail Valley he has been on the board of directors of the Vail Valley Foundation (VVF), Beaver Creek’s Vilar Center for the Arts, and the Eagle Valley Land Trust. He was a founding board member of SOS Outreach (serving at-risk youth) and the Vail Youth Foundation. He served as the Administration Chairman for the 1999 World Alpine Championships in Vail. Mr. Hernreich is a member of the VVF Millennium Club, a small group who have contributed in their lifetimes more than $1 million to the VVF.
Notably, he was past chairman of the board of Colorado Parks and Outdoor Recreation, and a de jure member of Greater Outdoors Colorado, known as GOCO. Under his aegis over 40,000 acres of Colorado land was conserved, and more parks were established than any other administration, before or after, including the Brush Creek addition to Slyvan Lake State Park in his home county of Eagle, CO. Mr. Hernreich personally conceived and shepherded the Brush Creek project.
He is a former Vice-Chair of the National Advisory Board of the National Center on Sexuality at San Francisco State University. He is a past director of Ride Snowboards, K2 Inc, and the Miss America Organization.
Mr. Hernreich is most proud of being the co-founder and angel funder of Global Action, a non-profit NGO specializing in the mitigation of malnourishment in under-developed countries, especially Africa.
Mr. Hernreich has been uniformed twice: He is an honorable dischargee of the US Army and a retired certified snowboard instructor, having received a 20 year pin from PSIA.
Mr. Hernreich has just emerged from retirement in Paris, France and returned to the US.
