History

Robey was formed by Peter Bey in Rotterdam in 1947, the name coming from the city of its founding (Rotterdam) and the founder's surname (Bey).[1] In the first few years, they made sportswear mostly for tennis players.[2] From the 1960s to the 1980s, Robey began to make kits for Dutch teams such as Sparta Rotterdam, FC Groningen, and the Dutch national team, quickly becoming one of the biggest sportswear producers in the Low Countries. The company was defunct by the early 1990s but was revived in 2012, based in a former shipyard.
