Roy Crewdson

Roy Crewdson (born 20 May 1941) is an English musician who was the rhythm guitarist for Freddie and the Dreamers.

Early life and career

Born in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester in 1941, Crewdson was an original member for pop group Freddie and the Dreamers alongside Freddie Garrity, Pete Birrell, Derek Quinn and Bernie Dwyer. The Dreamers were known for their well known hits which include You Were Made For Me, I'm Telling You Now and Do The Freddie. During performances, he was seen doing the Freddie (a dance that was introduced in 1965.)

Acting

Crewdson was also known for his subtle acting career cameoing with the Dreamers in films, Most noticeably Every Day's a Holiday[1] and for co-starring alongside his bandmates in the 1967 comedy Cuckoo Patrol, a film portraying the band as scouts that get lost after accidentally departing from their scout leader (played by Kenneth Connor.)

Later life and present day

After the Dreamers broke up, Crewdson moved to Tenerife and opened the Dreamers Bar.
