Education

Ahmed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Engineering from the Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology and a Master of Philosophy in international relations from the University of Cambridge.[1]

Career

During the Obama administration, Ahmed served as special assistant to the President and senior director of strategic planning for the United States National Security Council. He has since been a fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he specializes in foreign policy and research.[2][3][4] During the Taliban take over of Kabul, Ahmed was dispatched to Doha to assist Special Representative Zalmay Khalilzad in negotiations with Taliban representatives.[5]
