Samaritan Hospital (Troy, New York)

Samaritan Hospital[1][2] is a community hospital in upstate New York and a founding member of Northeast Health System.

History

The 1898-founded Samaritan undertook an expansion in 1911.[1] They later were founding members of Northeast Health System, along with Albany Memorial Hospital and Sunnyview Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (Schenectady).[3] The 238-bed hospital's School of Nursing has a 2 year A.S. (Associate degreee in Science).[4][5][6]

Controversy

Nursing wage information had been shared with other local hospitals in what was charged as collusion to suppress increases. The settlement by this hospital, along with its fellow Northeast Health members, precludes sharing such data in the future.[3]
