Sasural Genda Phool 2

Sasural Genda Phool 2 is an Indian television drama series that airs on Star Bharat, starring Shagun Sharma and Jay Soni.[1][2] It is a sequel of StarPlus’ popular show, Sasural Genda Phool, which earlier started Jay Soni and Ragini Khanna.[3] The show premiered on 7 December 2021 and airs Monday to Friday at the 8 PM (IST) slot of the channel.[4]

Premise

Suhana has died. Ishaan has not married since last 5 years as per the promise he gave to Suhan and does not want to marry, Kashyap family is worried for him. Ishaan soon crosses paths with Titli a thief.

Production

Development

A puja was organised on the sets on October 26 post-which the shooting commenced for the show.[5]

Casting

Almost all former cast-members from the first season were retained and talks were on with Ragini Khanna, who played the lead in the former season.[6][7] However, Khanna refused returning as a lead-face on TV and hence she accepted to only play a cameo in the show as deceased Suhana.[8]

New characters and entries too took place in the new season, like Dalljiet Kaur and few others.[9]

Release

The first promo was released on 9 November 2021, featuring lead Jay Soni and Ragini Khanna.[10]

The second promo was released on 24 November 2021, featuring the face-family, Jay Soni as Ishaan and lead Shagun Sharma as Titli.[11]
