In January 2020 they released the mixtape Imma Celebrity.[8] On the mixtape's closing track, "You Can't Kill Me", Spain responds to an incident in December 2019 when they were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Miami.[8]

In July 2020 Spain released Pretty Little Gangsta, featuring the single "Up & Down" with guest rapper Latto, who used the stage name Mulatto at the time.[9] Spains' 2020 single "Walk" went viral in 2021 after being sampled in the popular TikTok #WalkChallenge.[10]

They have since collaborated with artists including Sukihana,[11] LightSkinKeisha,[12] and Ivorian Doll.

Influences

Spain has cited Gucci Mane,[13] Trina,[14] and Tampa Tony[14] as influences.

Personal life

Spain was shot in a drive-by shooting in Miami in December 2019, along with two others.[15] Spain, who is openly gay and gender non-conforming, stated that they believe the shooting was motivated by homophobia.[12] Spain was hospitalized with their injuries.[16] They said of the shooting, "I got shot in the top of my shoulder, you was aiming at my face or at my head, that's an instant kill."[16] They discussed the incident on Angela Yee's Lip Service.[17] Spain came out as gay at age 17.[13] They are based in Tallahassee, Florida.
