Life

He was the second son of Panakkad Pookkoya Thangal and younger brother of the Indian Union Muslim League former president, Pankkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal.

Thangal was a judge in Wayanad, Kerala.[1] He was the chairman of the Kerala Waqf Board and president of the Sunni Yuvajana Sangham.[2]

He was the vice president of Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama. He was the president of Duraul Huda Islamic University from 1993 until his death. He also served as a Court member of Aligarh Muslim University.

Thangal died of cancer at Malappuram on 3 July 2008, aged 68.[3][4]
