Scot Cooper (actor)

Scot Cooper is a South African actor and model. He is best known for the roles in the films Girl from Nowhere, 1968 Tunnel Rats, Momentum and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.[1]

Career

After finishing college, he worked as the lead in a Pepsi commercial for MTV Russia. He trained drama under Meisner teacher, William Esper at the Esper Studio in New York and later from the Ivana Chubbick Studio in Los Angeles. Then Cooper got the opportunity to play a role in the American war film 1968 Tunnel Rats in 2008. Meanwhile, he completed his BA degree at the South African School of Motion Picture and Live Performance.[2]

In 2007, he acted in the film The World Unseen. In 2009, he won the Best Ensemble - Golden Horn Awards at SAFTA. Then in 2013, he won the Best Actor award at the 48hr Film Festival Cape Town. In 2015, he was awarded the Best Actor at the 48hr Film Festival Cape Town.[3]

In 2014, he co-starred in the television series Homeland of the season 4. Then he made a guest role in the BBC series Jamillah and Aladdin. He also made leading roles in the South African feature films such as Girl from Nowhere, and Reconnect. In 2018, he played a supportive role in Maze Runner: The Death Cure.[4][5]

He performed as "Mr Darcy" in the play Pride And Prejudice, and as in the play Tape, produced by Stephen Belber. He then staged a one-man play titled Henry And The Sand which was premiered at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. As a model, Cooper appeared numerous TV commercials as well.[6]
