Shamshadin

Shamshadin is a historical region of Armenia and rayon of Armenian SSR. It is now the eastern part of Tavush province (marz). Its regional centre is Berd. According to the 1939 census, Shamshadin was the most mono-national region of the Armenian SSR.[1] It was abolished in 1995 during the transition of Armenia to a new administrative-territorial division.[2]
