Antiquities of the Slavs

Antiquities of the Slavs or Slavic Antiquities (Czech title Slovanské Starožitnosti) is a multi-volume work by Czech scholar Lubor Niederle (1865–1944), published from 1902 to 1924.[1]

This series, composed of eleven volumes, exhaustively investigated origin and prehistory of the Slavs, continuing earlier work by historian Pavel Josef Šafařík.

Niederle believed that early Slavic culture was influenced by the natural environment, and that they became more civilized due to interactions with the Romans.[2]
