The Somali State Resistance (Somali: Muqaawamada Gobolka Soomaalida)[1] is an active resistance group in the Somali Region of Ethiopia that joined the United Front of Ethiopian Federalist and Confederalist Forces in 2021 during the Tigray War.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] The Somali State Resistance emerged as a prominent entity in 2021 under the leadership of Mahamud Ugas Muhumed, whom aligned the group with the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) during the ongoing Tigray War.[4][5] The Somali State Resistance has stated their will to use both force and negotiation to gain goals.[10][11]
