He has held a British Academy Senior Research Fellowship and an ESRC Senior Research Fellowship. He is currently a Senior Fellow of the Centre of Constitutional Change.[1][2]

Career

He is currently the Professor of Constitutional Theory at the University of Edinburgh.[1][2]

Scottish referendum

He has advised the Scottish government on the issue of the 2014 Scottish independence referendum and he has certified that the referendum process was proper and democratic.[1][2]
