Suko castle was a home castle of the Hirai clan, but Ryūzōji Takanobu attacked and exterminated Hirai clan in 1574.[3][4][5] Thereafter, Takanobu moved his residence from Muraoka Castle to the castle [5] and became a foothold for the Ryūzōji clan.[5] Following, Takanobu's death in the Battle of Okitanawate, Takanobu's younger brother Ryūzōji Nobukane became the lord of the castle.[1]
