Susan Osman
is a well-known television anchor/radio host with a distinctive, instantly recognizable voice. She is an experienced broadcaster
for both Television and Radio, in numerous fields of journalism: news, current affairs, consumer affairs and business news.
Susan has worked for all the major UK networks: BBC, Channel 4, Sky, ITV and ITN.
She is currently host of the international podcast, Been There Done That , a show that highlights women who not only strive

She began her career in Washington DC as a Theatre Director and Voice Coach for The New Theatre where she was given the keys to the city for her work with underprivileged black actors. Susan is a qualified vocal coach and speech specialist having trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. In her early career, she worked with Cicely Berry (RSC) in association with the Guildhall of Music Speech and Drama. Susan works as a freelance voice over artist and has her own home studio and has a five star rating on Audible.
She has spent the majority of her career with the BBC first BBC East and then years later, BBC West.
On screen and in front of a microphone she is as much at home with the lighter side of life as she is with hard hitting documentaries
and interviews. Susan was voted Personality of the Year by The Variety Club of Great Britain during her time in Bristol.
While at BBC West she presented three shows: Close Up West a Current Affairs show, , her own radio program BBC Radio Bristol's Morning Show with Susan Osman along with Points West. She continued doing freelance work for the BBC news network until relocating for a couple of years to China.
During this time Susan trained to be an Interfaith Minister and was ordained, allowing her to be an officiant at weddings, funerals and baby naming’s. She went onto set up the charity, Rainbow’s End Foundation before finally leaving the BBC.
Before Osman left the network, she highlighted the rampant age-discrimination against women in broadcasting. She stated that women have a "sell-by date"
Osman then left London and accepted a job in Beijing at China Radio International largely to allow herself to continue advancing in her career. She found it be professionally affirming with no age discrimination and praised Chinese culture's respect for older experienced workers. The show, The Beijing Hour with Susan Osman was transmitted in China, Australia and America, and broadcast online to 62 countries with an estimated audience of over 30 million listeners worldwide. During her time in Beijing, she also anchored television shows for China’s only privately-owned television station, Blue Ocean Network (BON) for the American market - Chinalogue, Beyond the Headlines. Susan has written a book about her experiences in China - Flirting with the Dragon - an anthropological analysis of the Chinese.
