Syed Qumrul Islam Saleh Uddin

Syed Kamrul Islam Mohammad Salehuddin was born on 2 July 1937, in Faridpur under Gopalgonj subdivision.His father Syed Mohammad Abdul Halim was a Member of Bengal Civil Service and mother Saleha Khatun was a daughter of Ahmed Ali Khan.

Salehuddin started his political activities with a associates of Monoroma Bosu Masima in Barishal.Salehuddin was a Marticulation candidate from B.M.College in 1952 but he took part the Language Movement and arrested by the Police in 22rd February 1952 from Barishal and prisoned for One year.He passed his Matriculation examination in 1953 from Jail.he was 13 years when he tested his first Jail life.he passed IA from P.C.College of Bagherhat in 1956.He graduated himself from M.M.College of Jessore in 1959.After graduation he joined as a teacher of K.L.Jublee School.he was involved with a private College as a Lecturer in Chandpur. He was a medical representative of pfizer.Salehuddin started for England in 1963 for higher study.First admitted in Insurance Academy aftermath he join the honorable Society of the Inner Temple. Salehuddin call to the bar from the honorable Society of the Inner Temple in 1968 then he joined to the Queens Bench Division of the British apex Court. He was a member of the British Civil Service for four and half years. He was elected chairman of The Rights of East Pakistan Defence Front in 1968 to defend Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from Agartala Conspiracy Case. He was the founder of Bangladesh Justice Party. Salehuddin was elected Member of Pakistan National Assembly from Awami League(MNA, Faridpur 2, 1970), Member of Constituent Assembly(MCA, Awami League, Faridpur, 1972). He was elected to Parliament in 1973 from Faridpur-3.[1]

Salehuddin passed away on 24 May 1983 at PG hospital. He was buried Banani Graveyard at Dhaka, Bangladesh. He left one son Dr Syed Zaved Mohommod Salehuddin, one daughter Syeda Farzana Salehuddin and a wife Dil Afroze Begum[2] A Technical Education College " Barrister Syed Kamrul Islam Mohammad Salehuddin Technical College " established in his native village Bonomalidia, Modhukhali, Faridpur under affiliation with Bangladesh Technical Education Board. He was involved to establish Banani Biddaniketan School and Banani Club, Dhaka.
