Synod on synodality

The Synod on synodality is the XVIth Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in the Catholic Church beginning October 11, 2021 and concluding in Rome, October 2023.[1]

The theme of this synod is "For a synodal Church – Communion, Participation and Mission" and its purpose is to elaborate the Synodality of the Catholic Church. Pope Francis, as the initiator, states that "it is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the Church of the third millennium".[2]
