The Duchess of Benameji (play)
The Duchess of Benameji (Spanish: La duquesa de Benamejí) is a 1932 Spanish play written by the brothers Antonio and Manuel Machado. In 1949 the play was turned into a large budget film The Duchess of Benameji directed by Luis Lucia Mingarro.[1]

Set in Benamejí, Cordoba, the play tells the story of chivalry bandits.[2]
The play was first performed on 26 March 1932 at the Spanish Theatre in Madrid by Margarita Xirgu.[2]
