The Love Office

The Love Office (Arabic: مكتب الغرام, transliterated Maktab al-gharam) is an Egyptian film released on April 17, 1950. It is directed by Hassan Helmy, is co-written by Jalal Hamdi, and stars Mohamed Amin and Soad Mekawy. The plot centers on an old man who has a love-letter service write letters to a dancer he loves, only for her to get to know the young man writing the letters at the office in person. In Amin’s 16th film, he co-stars with his wife, the dancer Hoda Shams El Din.[1]

Synopsis

A young man opens an office writing love letters for hire, and an old and wealthy man comes to patronize his services. The old man wants to charm a famous dancer he loves, but she comes into the office and admires the young man’s voice, encouraging him to become a singer.
