The Royal Foundry
The Royal Foundry is a Canadian alternative Pop quartet band whose core is the Edmonton, Alberta married couple Jared Salte and Bethany Schumacher. Formed as a folk duo in 2013,[4] Salte and Schumacher enjoyed some success with their tours. In 2015, following their first single "Running Away", they began a significant revitalization and revision of their sound, incorporating elements of 1990's Brit-Pop lush production with power-pop stylings of groups like Arcade Fire and 1970's Progressive Rock elements inspired by groups like Yes and Supertramp[5] Their music has been described as Alt Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative Pop,[6] and Synth Pop.[1]

History
Early life
Jared Salte was raised in a musical household.[7] At age 5 Jared started playing the piano.[3] By age 11, he was running the recording studio Salt Shaker Studios.[3] By age 15, he had already won his first international songwriting competition and released his first album.[8] At 19 he opened for The Newsboys in stadiums across North America with his band the Junkyard Poets.[3] Jared has gone on to win 9 GMA Awards and has been nominated for over 30 awards including Producer of the Year, making him the youngest Producer to ever be nominated for the prestigious award[3] Bethany Schumacher grew up in the church as a Pastor's daughter[7] with her mother as the pianist and choir director where often sang at church, fundraising and community events.[3] In high school, Schumacher played the female lead in all of her high school musicals.[5][3]
2013-2016: Formation & Early Work
In 2013, shortly after their wedding, The Royal Foundry was formed initially as a Folk band.[9] In 2015 they won $75,000 as part of the Peak Performance Project[10] for their song “Running Away” which peaked at #21 on Alt-Rock Stations in Canada.[11] “Running Away” was featured on TSN as the opening song for the CFL.[11] and in two National Commercials ( ENMAX and the Government of Alberta Climate Change Campaign) [12] In 2016 their single “Start This Fire” was featured in an International Ad Campaign for Purina Dog Chow.[1] which led to the band signing with Peermusic for their first major publishing deal.[13][14] In the fall of 2016 they released their single “Dreamers”,[13] which was first exposed during their live concert for the World Cup of Hockey[15][12] in Toronto. Soon after the release, Disney licensed the song for their 2017 wedding dress fashion line[12][15] and the song hit #35 on the Alt Rock charts in Canada[12]

On August 15, 2017 they released their debut album, “Lost in Your Head”.[16][17] By 2018, the album reached 1 million streams on Spotify. The video for the single "All We Have" went viral.[15][18]
“Lost In Your Head” has gone on to win the Canadian Songwriting Competition Grand Prize, John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize.[19] and was nominated for Western Canadian Music Awards (Break Out West) as well as three nominations in the Edmonton Music Awards[4] Following the success of “Lost In Your Head”, The Royal Foundry has had several Film & TV music placements (Catfish the Show.,[12] CFL on TSN, and Edmonton Tourism)[12]
