Background and release

Namasenda signed to PC Music in late 2019 after messaging producer and label head A. G. Cook on Instagram,[4] and released the single "24/7".[5] This was her first release since her debut EP hot_babe_93 in 2017, which received a following in PC Music and hyperpop fandoms.
She later released the "Dare" double single in mid-2020, where in interviews she first began teasing the release of a mixtape.[6] This was followed by another single in late 2020, titled "Wanted", where in a press release, Namasenda described the upcoming mixtape as being creatively inspired by action movies.[4] Neither singles are set to appear on the mixtape.
Namasenda released the first official single from Unlimited Ammo, "Demonic" featuring Spanish artist La Zowi, in July 2021,[7] followed by "Banana Clip", featuring Nigerian fashion designer and singer Mowalola Ogunlesi in August,[8] and "Finish Him", featuring American singer Joey LaBeija in September.[3] Namasenda announced the release of the mixtape the day after "Finish Him"'s release, alongside an action movie-inspired poster, in replacement of the mixtape's official artwork.
Namasenda released the final single from the mixtape, "No Regrets", in early October 2021,[9] and unveiled the mixtape's cover the following day via social media. A music video for "No Regrets", directed by Sekou Abineri, was also released.[10] She additionally revealed the tracklist and a vinyl pre-order via social media a few days after.[11]
A day before the release, Namasenda announced the release of a special Bandcamp edition of mixtape, titled Unlimited Ammo: Infinity. It was released the same day as the standard edition, and features four extra tracks – remixes of "Demonic" by Thy Slaughter, "☆" by Ö, and "Steel" by caro♡, and an interlude.[12]
