Vanessa Angélica Villarreal
Vanessa Angélica Villarreal (born in Rio Grande Valley) is an American poet.

In 2019, she won a Whiting Award[1] for poetry and was a 2019 Kate Tufts Discovery Award finalist.[2]
She is a CantoMundo Fellow and is pursuing her doctorate in English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Southern California.[3][4][5] She was a mentor for PEN Emerging Voices 2020.
Her work has appeared in several magazines like The Rumpus, The Boston Review,[6] poetry magazine,[7] pinwheel,[8] wanderer poetry,[9] and MLK50.[10]
