Vasanth & Co is a chain dealer of consumer electronics and home appliances in Tamil Nadu, India. The company was founded in 1978 and has grown to 96 showrooms across towns in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi and Puducherry. The company was founded and owned by the late H. Vasanthakumar.[2]

Vasanth & Co has branches in Adyar, Choolaimedu, Kilpauk, Kodambakkam, Mylapore, Nanganallur, Padi, Velachery, Purasawalkam, Porur, Royapuram, T.Nagar (four locations), Tambaram, Padi, Kolathur, Sholinganallur and Washermanpet in Chennai.[3]

Expansion

The chain plans to expand its sales network to 100 showrooms across India by the year 2009, with an investment plan of ₹ 1 to 1.50 billion (20 to 30 million US dollars).[4] It reported a turnover of ₹ 5 billion (100 million US dollars) in the year 2007.[5] and the company doubled it by 2020.[6]

SAP implementation

The company chose to implement mySAP ERP 2005 across its 50 show rooms to integrate availability of information which will help in optimising its supply chain with faster turn around of its inventory and enhanced visibility of profits.[7]

Founder

The founder H. Vasanthakumar was born in 1950. He died on August 28, 2020, due to coronavirus.[8]
