Vlach People's Party

The Vlach People's Party (Romanian: Partia Neamului Rumânesc, Serbian: Влашка Народна Странка, romanized: Vlaška Narodna Stranka) is an ethnic Vlach political party representing the Vlach minority in Serbia. The leader of the party is Predrag Balašević,[1] who calls Vlachs Romanians and requests minority rights for the Romanian minority in the Timok Valley.[2][3]

History

The Vlach People's Party was founded in 2004. It was created with the goal of preserving the Vlach culture and identity in Serbia.[4][5] The party participated in the 2020 Serbian parliamentary elections in a coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party and other ethnic minority parties.[6]
