Voices of Music
Voices of Music, sometimes shortened to VoM, is an early music ensemble based in San Francisco, California that specializes in music before 1800, including Baroque and Renaissance music. The ensemble was founded in 2007 by Hanneke van Proosdij and David Tayler[1] with the goal of offering concerts and recordings, affordable educational programs for children and adults, advanced training for the next generation of young professionals, and community outreach, while providing music of the highest quality through live performances.[2]
The group is perhaps best known as being one of the first early music ensembles to routinely provide ultra HD video recordings, including 4K and 8K resolutions, of its concert performances to a worldwide online audience. Performances are published regularly on the group's YouTube channel, which has amassed over 94 million video views as of August 2021.[3] The ensemble also performs and broadcasts concerts in the Bay Area and has produced a number of CD recordings over the years.[4][5] The group is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society and is registered in the state of California as a 501(c) nonprofit organization.[6]
