Volohi
The Volohi, locally also known as White Gypsies, are an ethnic subgroup living in subcarpathian Ukraine, a few kilometers away from the eastern border with Slovakia. They are considered Romanian by the Romanian media, although Ukrainian researchers consider them a Romani subgroup, possibly of Boyash origin. They speak an archaic Romanian language. They mainly live in Poroshkovo, with smaller communities in the villages along the Uzh river valley.[1][3][2]
