Windows (composition)
Windows is a jazz composition, one of the most popular ones by Chick Corea. Corea first recorded this under the title Uph on a session led by Mercer Ellington on January 5, 1966. This session was later published on the compilation album Duke Ellington - New Mood Indigo. Joining Corea was Paul Gonsalves, Aaron Bell, and Louis Bellson, all sideman of the Duke Ellington Orchestra. The next year, it was recorded on Stan Getz's 1967 album Sweet Rain, of which Corea was an accompanist, then on Corea's 1973 album Inner Space, and later on the 1988 CD release of his 1968 album Now He Sings, Now He Sobs. It has become a jazz standard.[1][2] Mike Stern covered it in 1992,[3] and Gary Burton in 1998.[4]
