History

In 1838, Eli Smith noted Yahmur as a village on the West side of the Beqaa Valley.[1]

During the 2006 war, the IDF occupied al-Taibe, a village just across the Litani River from Yohmor. It was the site of a bloody battle between the IDF and Hezbollah and cluster munitions were dropped on Yohmor, leaving pock marks in the roads and devastating many buildings.[2]
