Yewande Sadiku
Yetunde Sadiku (born July 27, 1972) is a Nigerian investment banker. She was the Executive Secretary and CEO of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission from September 2016 to September 2021.[1][2]
Education
In 1992, Yetunde graduated from University of Benin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Chemistry. She went on to get a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Warwick in 1995.[3]
Career
In 1994, she moved from International Bank Limited (now Citibank Nigeria) to Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited (later to be known as Stanbic IBTC Bank) where she became Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Capital in November 2012.[4]
She was appointed as Executive Secretary and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), in September 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari.[5]
Under Yetunde, the NIPC ranked from 90th to 2nd in the Freedom of Information (FOI) Rankings for compliance and transparency.[6] NIPC's internally generated revenue also went from N296 million in 2016 to N3.06 billion in 2020 of which over 50% of this revenue was remitted to the Consolidated Revenue Fund.[7][8]
Allegations
In August 2021, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission investigated Yetunde for alleged abuse of office, contract fraud and allowances unaccounted for.[9][10] No charges have been pressed against her yet and the act has been criticized by groups as an harassment from the EFCC.[11][12]
