Zack Weiner
Zack Weiner (born 1992) is an American sports media executive and the president and co-founder of Overtime and Overtime Elite.[1]
Career
Weiner founded Overtime, a sports brand that has over 50 million followers and 1.7 billion monthly video views,[2] in the fall 2016 with Dan Porter.[3] Weiner previously served as an executive at Endeavor, which served as an incubator for Overtime and retains an ownership stake in the company. Weiner and Porter developed a technology that simplified the production and distribution of athletic highlights.[4] Since its founding, Overtime has raised more than $140 million in funding to date and has more than 125 employees. Investors include Jeff Bezos, Drake, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant.[5]
In 2021, Weiner and Porter announced the founding of the Overtime Elite (OTE) basketball league, which will pay high school aged players six figure salaries, provide high school education and offer professional skills training.[6] OTE began its inaugural season in October 2021 in a new 103,000 square-foot facility in Midtown, Atlanta.[7]
Weiner has received several industry honors including Sports Business Journal's Forty Under 40,[8] Leaders Under 40,[9] and Forbes Under 30.[10]
Early life
Born and raised in New York City, Weiner graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics. While he was a student, Weiner founded the digital media company, the Sports Quotient.[11] He was a 3x Ivy League chess champion.[12]
