2021–22 PGA Tour

The 2021–22 PGA Tour is the 107th season of the PGA Tour, and the 55th since separating from the PGA of America. The season began on September 13, 2021. The 2022 FedEx Cup Playoffs will begin on August 8, and conclude on August 28, 2022.

Changes from the previous season

Prize fund

The Tour announced more than $100 million in purse increases for the 2022 season including:[1]

  • Increasing the FedEx Cup bonus pool (from $60 million to $75 million)
  • Doubling the regular season bonus pool, known as the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 (from $10 million to $20 million)
  • Increasing the Player Impact Program, which rewards players that drive fan engagement (from $40 million to $50 million)
  • Introducing the Play15 Bonus program, which rewards every player who makes at least 15 starts with $50,000
  • Significant increases in the purses of limited-field events including increasing the Players Championship purse to $20 million

Except for the major championships and The Players, which have fixed points allocations, points listed for tournaments that have not been completed are official projections based on the expected field. Final allocations are usually published the day after completion of all tournaments eligible for ranking points that week.
  2. EUR − European Tour; JPN − Japan Golf Tour.
  3. Originally planned to return to South Korea.[3] However, due to COVID-19 considerations, the CJ Cup was held in Las Vegas, Nevada for the second consecutive year.[4]
  4. With the cancelation of the WGC-HSBC Champions, the Bermuda Championship was elevated to full status.[5]

  6. The Tour Championship has no stand-alone purse and does not carry official money; the tournament directly determines the assignment of the FedEx Cup bonus pool money, including $18,000,000 to the winner.[6][7]

  1. The top 125 point scorers in the regular season retain their tour card for the following season, and qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The top 70 points scorers after The Northern Trust qualify for the BMW Championship.
  2. The top 30 point scorers after the BMW Championship qualify for the Tour Championship. Each player begins with a score adjustment to par determined by their point ranking, the lowest scorers in the Tour Championship in addition to this adjustment win the FedEx Cup.
  3. In addition to tournament prize money, the top ten regular season point scorers receive a share of a $10m bonus, and the $60m FedEx Cup postseason bonus money is distributed based upon standings after the Tour Championship.
