2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations
The 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations, officially known as the Total Women's Africa Cup of Nations, will be the 12th edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations (14th edition if tournaments without hosts are included), the biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women's national teams of Africa. The tournament will be hosted by Morocco from 2 to 23 July 2022.[1][2]

The tournament also doubles as the African qualifiers to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The top four teams will qualify for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and two more teams will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs.[3]
Nigeria are the three-time defending champions, having won the tournament in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The 2020 edition, which would have been the first to feature twelve teams, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Host selection
Morocco were announced as hosts by the CAF Executive Committee on 15 January 2021.[2]
Qualification
Morocco qualified automatically as hosts, while the remaining eleven spots will be determined by the qualifying rounds.
