2022 TBL season
The 2022 TBL season is the fifth season of The Basketball League (TBL). The league has expanded from 29 teams in the 2021 season to 42.

On June 4, 2021 The Basketball League announced the Beaumont Panthers led by retired basketball player Kendrick Perkins and his cousin, Jay McDonald as an expansion team for the 2022 season. [1][2]
On September 27, 2021 it was announced that the Albany Patroons would rejoin the league after opting out of the 2021 season.[3]On October 27, 2021 Former UAlbany Basketball Coach and Albany Legend Will Brown was named the Head Coach and General Manager of the Patroons. He led UAlbany to 5 America East Championships and is a former America East Coach of the Year.[4]
On October 4, 2021 TBL announced that the Citizen Potawatomi Nation would debut a basketball team would be named the Potawatomi Fire. [5]
For the 2021–22 season, the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) announced that they had agreed to inter-league series play with several teams from The Basketball League. The games played between the teams from the two leagues are included in their respective regular season standings for each league.[6]
