The qualification structure is as follows:
- Pre-Qualifiers
- First round: teams which haven't participated at 2022 FIBA AmeriCup qualifiers will be divided into two tournaments, based on geographical sub-zones. Three best placed teams from Central American and the Caribbean zone and single winner from South American play-off will advance to the second round.
- Second round: Four teams advanced from the sub-zone pre-qualifiers will be joined by four teams eliminated from 2022 FIBA AmeriCup qualifiers. They will be divided into two groups of four teams. Group winners and runners-up will advance to qualifiers.
- Qualifiers: The 12 teams that have qualified for the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup will be joined by four teams advanced from the pre-qualifiers.
- First round: The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four teams to play home-and-away matches. Three best placed teams from a group will advance to the second round.
- Second round: The twelve teams will be divided into two groups of six teams. Each group will be formed from teams advanced from two first round groups. All results from the previous round will be carried out. Three best placed teams from both groups plus fourth placed team with better record will qualify for the World Cup.
