The primary star has a classification of A4IV-V, which suggests that this star is evolving of the main sequence and has the luminosity between a subgiant and a main sequence star. 29 Cam has twice the mass of the Sun, and has 3.49 times it's radius. It has 43.76 times the luminosity of the Sun, and has a rapid rotation rate, which a projected velocity of 123 km/s. It has an effective temperature of 8397 K, which gives it a white hue of an A-type star.

Companion

29 Cam has a companion designated BD+56 1065B, which is a 10 magnitude star. According to the proper motion, this star is unrelated to the primary, and is 4 times farther than the primary.[10] The companion is relatively cooler and less luminous than the primary.
