Akrites, Kastoria

The Akrites Municipal Unit (Greek: Δημοτική Ενότητα Ακριτών) is a municipal unit of Nestorio Municipality in Kastoria Regional Unit, Macedonia, Greece.[2] The municipal unit has an area of 85.724 km2[3] with a population of 669 inhabitants[4] according to Greek census in 2011.

The inhabitants of the area of the Akrites Municipal Unit participated in Greek revolution of 1821.One of the most important fighters was the chief Symeon Kortsalis from Polyanemo.[5]
