Alexandria Technical and Community College

Alexandria Technical and Community College is a public community college in Alexandria, Minnesota. It is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) system. Approximately 3,500 students are enrolled, with about 45% of those students being enrolled full-time.[2]

Academics

Alexandria Technical and Community College offers over 50 degree programs, ranging from certificates to Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees. Several Associate of Arts degrees and Transfer Pathways are also offered. Most of the programs here involve some form of experiential learning, preparing students for the real world. The campus is one of the few colleges in the state that offers a law enforcement program, which is one of the biggest programs there. Degrees in this field at Alexandria College include a traditional AAS degree, an AS transfer degree, and a career transition degree.

Alexandria Technical and Community College is known for its high related job placement rate; the placement rate for many individual programs is at or near 100%.[3] The college is known for its transfer education and specialized skills. Alexandria Technical and Community College was Minnesota's first two-year college to be accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.[4] It also has among the highest graduation rate[5] for two-year public colleges in the state of Minnesota. It also provides a solid education foundation to transfer for a bachelor's degree, and maintains articulation agreements with several Universities.
