Anan, Tokushima
Anan (阿南市, Anan-shi) is a city in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on May 1, 1958. As of June 1, 2019, the city has an estimated population of 70,405 and a population density of 252 inhabitants per square kilometre (650/sq mi). The total area is 279.25 km2 (107.82 sq mi).

On March 20, 2006, the towns of Hanoura and Nakagawa (both from Naka District) were merged into Anan.
Nichia, a global LED and electronic materials manufacturer has its headquarters in the city.[1] Also in the city is the static inverter plant of Kii Channel HVDC system.
