Ao Tanaka (田中碧, Tanaka Ao, born 10 September 1998) is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Fortuna Düsseldorf, on loan from Kawasaki Frontale, and the Japan national team.

Career
Raised for a decade by Kawasaki Frontale youth ranks, Tanaka made his J1 League in September 2018 against Consadole Sapporo and even scored his 1st pro-goal in his six minutes-game.[2]
On 26 June 2021, he joined German 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf on a year-long loan with an option to buy.[3]
