The company was founded by Douglas R. MacQuarrie, Florian Riedl-Riedenstein and Jagtar Singh Sandhu on May 4, 2011 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
Asante Gold engages in the exploration and develop of gold properties in Ghana, West Africa. Projects include Kubi Gold Mine, Keyhole Concessions, Betenase Concession, Fahiakoba Concession and Ashanti II. The company has also acquired the Bibiani gold mine from Resolute Mining.
The company is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange, Frankfurt exchanges and US OTC market.
History
2011 - Asante Gold incorporated in Canada. In the same year, the Fahiakoba project in Ghana was acquired. Asante Gold holds a 100% interest in the Fahiakoba gold concession through an option agreement with Goknet Mining Company Limited of Accra which holds the prospecting license and is subject to 5% Government and 3% underlying NSR interest.[1]
in 2014 company announces that it has reached an agreement with Goknet Mining Company Limited of Accra, Ghana, concerning finalizing a Definitive Agreement to form a 50:50 Joint Venture to develop the Kubi Gold Project in Ghana, West Africa.[2][3]
in 2015 Asante Gold Announces Mining Exploration Permit Issued Kubi Gold Project, Ghana and Sale Agreement with Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited to acquire up to 100% interest in their Betanase Permit in Ghana. The permit adjoins to the east of the Kubi Mining lease which Asante has optioned and which is undergoing scoping studies to develop as an underground mine.[4]
2016 - Company announces to close the acquisition of the Kubi Mining Leases. Asante Gold will acquire the Kubi Mining Leases by issuing seven million treasury shares and reserving for future delivery to Goknet a total of 8,000 ounces of gold, and thereafter reserving for Goknet a 2%[5]
In addition, the Company acquires Goknet’s interests in eight prospecting licenses: two totaling 38 sq km adjoining to the west of the Kubi Mining Leases; and six contiguous licenses totaling 270 sq km located on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt 15 km to the southwest and along strike of the Asanko Gold Mine.[6]
in 2016 Company has entered into an agreement with BXC Company (Ghana) Limited to form the Kubi Gold JV, a 50:50 joint venture to develop the Kubi Mining Leases in Ghana towards production.[7]
In the same year, сompany announces that it has reached an agreement with Sikasante Mining Company Limited of Accra, Ghana to earn up to 100% interest in its Keyhole Gold Project in Ghana.[8]
2021 - Asante Gold Acquires Key Exploration Land on Ashanti and Asankrangwa Gold Belts, Ghana. These licenses are the Diaso (104.1sq. km), Juabo (59.2 sq. km), Manhia (18.69 sq. km), Dunkwa Gyimigya (32.72 sq. km), Gyimigya (5.52 sq. km), Agyaka Manso (40.0 sq. km), Amuabaka (28.86 sq. km) and Nkronua-Atifi (24.97 sq. km) prospecting licenses (PL’s). All licenses are being acquired, on an as issued by the Minerals Commission basis, from Goknet Mining Company Limited.[9]
In 2021 Asante Gold Corporation successfully completion of the purchase of the Bibiani Gold Mine from Resolute Mining Limited for total cash consideration of US$90 million.[10][11]
Main areas of exploration
Asante Gold currently has six project sites in Ghana, West Africa, of which two are in the development stage (near-term production) - Bibiani Gold Mine, Kubi Gold Mine, and four in exploration - these are Betenase, Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and the Ashanti II Project concessions.
