Anandi and Jigar are now 8 and 13 years old respectively. Jigar knows about the marriage but Anandi doesn't. Anandi likes to go to school and play with her best friend Dhingli who is Karwi Baa's great grand daughter. Anandi always fights with her brother Kalpesh but still cares about him. Anandi is a mischievous and naughty child but also respects her elders. On the other hand, Premji's mother is still sick and her health is decreasing day by day due to her mean elder daughter, Diwali. So, she asks Premji for her last wish as Gauna of Anandi. Khimji's family is kicked out of their house due to Nagesh who have purchased their house from Khimji's brother-in-law. Premji goes to Khimji to bring the family to his new haweli (house).

Anandi is very happy to going her Kaku's house without knowing that his Gauna is occurring. But, Anandi parents are very upset and sad about there daughter's child marriage and think they have committed a very big mistake. All the family goes to Khimji's house and marriage customs starts. Seeing this Premji's mother looks very happy and her health also maintains well. Diwali does not like Premji and his family and now also starts hating Anandi and makes her life miserable after her Gauna. Anandi is asked to live in Premji's house due to the request of Premji's mother. Anandi's family leaves a sad Anandi to Premji's house. But her Kaku and Kaki make her happy and Jigar, who initially didn't like Anandi, begins to care for her. Now Maddi Baa (Taye), comes and Anandi tackles her by mistake unaware about her personality. Maadi Baa ill-treats Anandi and scolds her. Maadi Baa had came to see Premji's mother as she heard about her sickness. When Maadi Baa goes to her nephew Premji's house, she gets to know that Anandi is her Paut Bahu (grandniece-in-law) and Jigar's wife. She is surprised to know this and begins to treat her badly. Maadi Baa loves Diwali and her daughter but doesn't like Premji and his family. But after knowing that Anandi doesn't know about her marriage, she starts developing a soft side for Anandi.

After some days, Premji's business partner comes there with his family. His son, Anand and Anandi met in the way while saving a puppy. Jigar dislikes Anand because of his intelligence and his friendship with Anandi.

After a few month, a marriage proposal is came for Kanku who is in love with Madhav, her colleague. Kanku cries and asks help from Anand,Jigar and Anandi. Jigar decides to not help Kanku. When Kanku decides to run away with Madhav, Anandi dislikes the decision. But Anand stiked to this plan. Jigar, who heard there conversation,uses this to create a conflict between Anand and Anandi. When Kanku runs away to Madhav, he says that he won't marry Kanku without the permission of her family. When Kanku's family waits for Anandi to bring Kanku at the temple, Anandi cries and says them that Kanku ran away and this is because of Anand. Jigar, who got a chance, says that Anand forced Kanku to run away. When Madhav brings Kanku to the temple, everyone including Jigar accuses Anand. Madhav woes that only he will marry Kanku and leaves. Anandi, who is heartbroken, asks and to leave and never return. Jigar, while hugging Anand, says that it was all his plan. Anand was in a state that he couldn't react and leaves.

Anand, Anandi and Jigar are grown up. Premji and his family are invited for Anand's sister's engagement. While in the program, Jigar misbehaves with Anandi and Anand sees this, but they couldn't recognize each other. when Anand reaches his parents, they says that they are Jigar and Anandi. He thought about the happy moments of him with Anandi, but Anandi woes that she will never forgive Anand for what he did to Kanku, who didn't get any marriage proposal for 10 years. After some days anandi got the admission in a college and requested kaaki that she wants to stay in Ahmedabad,Jigar overhears their conversation and disagrees with anandi's decision , she tried to confront him but he didn't understand he said he will think about his decision if she will celebrate honeymoon with him that upsets her , when anandi tell his situation to anand , He talked to his mother to confront anandi's family to get her admission in the college but she refuses to talk saying that their customs are very different from ours. When they were leaving anand gifts some books to anandi but jigar throws the book out of the window of the car. When they reach their home the familay memebers give her a birthday surprise that was making anandi little discomfortable .In the night the family celebrated anandis 18th birthday . jigar was waiting for anandi . After sometime she came with the glass of milk and jigar was trying to make suhagraat/honeymoon with anandi . Whenever he touche her she became discomfortable and was pushing him away after several tries she ran from the house and met anand who was coming to raigarh to meet anandi and other family memebers.Anand see her terrible condition and is shocked to see her sindoor and nuptial chain ( mangalsutra). But before he cank ask anything to Anandi about the same she faints. He rushes her to hospital and is shocked to know about Jigar and Anandi"s marriage

The reboot of Balika Vadhu was confirmed in early 2021.[6] The casting was halted in April 2021 due to imposed lockdown in Maharashtra because of COVID-19 pandemic, and it resumed in June 2021.[7] The teaser of the series was released officially on 27 June 2021.[8] The first promo of the series was released on 18 July 2021 featuring Shreya Patel and confirming the premiere date.[9]

In November 2021, the makers decided to introduce a time-leap in the show. Actress Shivangi Joshi was cast to play adult Anandi.[10] Kinshuk Vaidya was earlier considered to play adult Jigar.[11] However, the makers roped-in Randeep Rai to play the role opposite Joshi.[12] Actor Samridh Bawa was cast to play adult Jigar in the show.[13]

The filming began in June 2021 where some initial sequences were shot at Rajasthan. Besides, the series is mainly filmed at sets in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[14]
