Reception
Nicolas Rapold of The New York Times wrote "Mr. Wilson's Antoine is too much of a pill to root for, and the voice-over and wispy songs dribbling over scenes only underline the forgettable filmmaking".[3]
Mike McCahill of The Guardian gave Barbecue two stars out of five and called it "a limply chummy French midlife crisis [film]".[4]
Clarence Tsui of The Hollywood Reporter called the film "[a] half-baked comedy-drama".[5]
